Joined Social Democratic Party [Sozialdemokratische Partei, SdP]; member of the SdP provincial board in Lower Austria; member of the Municipal Council of Vienna; elected to the Reichsrat (1907-1918); member of the Provisional National Assembly (21 Oct 1918 - 16 Feb 1919); member (4 Mar 1919 - 31 May 1919) and president by age (4 Mar 1919 - 5 Mar 1919) of the Constituent National Assembly.
