  1. Also in official use (after the creation of a sovereign government on 13 Jan 1830): Encargado provisionalmente de la Administración del Poder Ejecutivo del Estado de Venezuela, Jefe del Estado de Venezuela.
  2. Páez was appointed Jefe Superior de Venezuela by a decree of the President of the Republic of Colombia of 1 Jan 1827 and accepted the office on 2 Jan 1827 in Valencia, arriving to Caracas on 10 Jan 1827. The authority of Jefe Superior extended to the territory of departamentos of Orinoco, Venezuela and Zulia.
