- On 16 Nov 1775, the Committee was authorized to sit until the meeting of the next Congress (21 Dec 1775).
- Weare was elected Chairman of the Committee on 20 Jan 1776 and was re-elected each time when a new Committee was appointed (1776-1783), continuing in office during the recess of the General Court and, from 13 Jun 1777, also during the sessions of the General Court; served until 29 May 1784 when the Committee held its last session (Weare was absent 28 May 1784 and, probably, 29 May 1784).
