- After the death of John Cutt (27 Mar/6 Apr 1681), the functions of the President devolved on his deputy, Richard Waldron, who "took place as President of the Council" on 5/15 Apr 1681.
- Cranfield appointed Walter Barefoot as Deputy Governor by a commission issued on 8/18 Jun 1685 and departed on 9/19 Jun 1685.
