  1. Following the acceptance of resignation of Governor Woodbridge by the Senate of Michigan on 24 Feb 1841, the functions of Governor devolved on Lieutenant Governor Gordon who assumed executive authority on the same day.
  2. The term of Crapo commenced on the first day of January next after his election (1 Jan 1865), in accordance with Section 24 of the Schedule to the Constitution of 1850. He took the oath of office on 3 Jan 1865.
