Stephens was forced to stop attending the meetings of the President and Assistants in Council on 26 Sep/7 Oct 1750 and informed the board of his retirement on 4/15 Oct 1750. Starting from 26 Sep/7 Oct 1750 Parker chaired the meetings, pending the proclamation of his formal appointment as Vice President. |

After receiving his commission in Georgia, he took the oath of office on 9/20 Nov 1750. Stephens formally continued in office as President of the Province to Sep/Oct? 1751. |

His commission was received in Georgia probably in Sep/Oct 1751. The minutes of the meetings of the President and Assistants in Council between 6/17 Sep 1751 and 11 May 1752 are not known to be extant. |

Parker is recorded attending the meeting of the President and Assistants on 2 Jun 1752. He died probably in Jun/Jul 1752 (Georgia Colonial Records, 26:408) and was succeeded by Graham who is first mentioned as the President of the Province at the meeting of 6 Dec 1752. |
