- Johnstone arrived to the seat of government at Pensacola on 21 Oct 1764, but was unable to publish his commission at the meeting of the Council until 24 Nov 1764 due to the lack of quorum.
- John Eliot died on 2 May 1769. The functions of Governor devolved on the Lieutenant Governor Browne who assumed the government on 3 May 1769.
