- Full title: An Act to Effect Changes in the Constitutional Position of Uganda, to Amend the Uganda (Independence) Order in Council, 1962, and the Constitution of Uganda, and to Make Provision Consequent Thereon (may be cited as the Constitution of Uganda (First Amendment) Act, 1963).
- The amendments to the Constitution did not explicitly provide for the change of the name, but "Sovereign State of Uganda" was mentioned in Art. 3 and also featured in the Oaths Act, 1963, and the Public Seal Act, 1963.
