[1] The order of the High Commissioner creating the Federation was proclaimed at the session of the Federal Council at Aleppo 28 Jun 1922. Public inauguration of the Federation followed on 1 Jul 1922.

[3] The declaration approved by the Council of the Legue of Nations required that the mandates would "enter into force automatically and at the same time, as soon as the Governments of France and Italy have notified the President of the Council of the League of Nations that they have reached an agreement on certain particular points in regard to the latter of these mandates." The notifications were submitted at the session of the Council of 29 Sep 1923 (League of Nations Official Journal, 4th year, No. 11, November 1923, p. 1355)
