- Fayṣal was named king by a declaration of the Syrian General Congress (al-Muʾtamar al-Sūrī al-ʿĀmm|المؤتمر السوري العام) passed on 7 Mar 1920 and was publicly proclaimed at the ceremony held in Damascus on on 8 Mar 1920. After the occupation of Damascus by France on 25 Jul 1920, Fayṣal left the capital on 28 Jul 1920 and moved to Daraa where he stayed to 1 Aug 1920, eventually leaving the national territory on that date.
