[1] The term of Bay as a member of the Directory is presumed to have ended on the date when the Directory received a notice of the election of Savary (24 Jun 1799) as a successor of Bay who had been selected for replacement at the session of the Directory on 22 Jun 1799.
[2] Between 1 Jun 1798 and 31 Aug 1798 the presidents served one-month terms. The term of Oberlin should have ended on 30 Jun 1798, but he presided at the session of 1 Jul 1798, probably acting for the absent Glayre who assumed presidency on 2 Jul 1798.
[3] The term is deemed to have commenced on 13 Jan 1799 (Sunday) when the Directory did not hold a session. Glayre assumed presidency on 14 Jan 1799.
