30 Jun 1978 the municipalities within the administrative limits of the provinces of Cáceres and Badajoz are placed under the administration of the Regional Junta of Extremadura (Junta Regional de Extremadura) in accordance with a royal decree-law issued on 13 Jun 1978, effective upon publication in the Spain Official Gazette (Spain Official Gazette, No. 155, 30 Jun 1978, p. 15578; Extremadura Official Gazette, No. 1, 20 Mar 1980, pp. 2-3)
