The name of the state was changed in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia which came into operation on the adoption by the Constituent Assembly of Yugoslavia on 31 Jan 1946. The name of the National Assembly of Serbia was changed to the National Assembly of the People's Republic of Serbia in accordance with a law passed by the Presidency of the National Assembly on 19 Feb 1946.
