  1. The substitution of the adjective (neuvostotasavallan) formed from neuvostotasavalta (Soviet Republic) with the Russianized version (sovettitasavallan) began after 11 Mar 1936.
  2. Original name (Finnish): Edvard Otto Wilhelm Gylling.
  3. After the adoption of the Constitution of the USSR (5 Dec 1936), the order of words was changed from "Socialist Soviet" to "Soviet Socialist" in Russian version, but was preserved in Finnish.
  4. The spelling and orthography for the Karelian style are given in accordance with the Karelian version of the Constitution of the Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic adopted by the Extraordinary Congress of Councils of the Karelian ASSR on 17 Jun 1937 and the collection of legislation published in 1939. The transliteration is according to the scheme used for the Russian language (GOST 16876-71).
  5. Russian, Karelian and Finnish were given equal status for the publication of legislation and judicial proceedings by the Constitution of the Karelian ASSR of 1937. The references to Finnish were excluded from the Constitution by a law passed by the Supreme Council of the Karelian ASSR on 27 Jul 1938.
