[1] Following the acceptance of the abdication of King Mihai I at the session of 30 Dec 1947, the Grand National Assembly (Marea Adunare Națională) assigned some functions of head of state to the President of the Council of Ministers (Președinte Consiliului de Ministri) Petru Adam Groza who promulgated the laws passed at the same session, concluding with the appointment and swearing-in of the Provisional Presidium of the Romanian People's Republic.
