- Sahm was elected President of the Senate at the session of the Volkstag held on 6 Dec 1920 and took the oath of office at the next session on 7 Dec 1920.
- The resignation of Rauschning was made public on 23 Nov 1934. His letter of resignation was submitted to the Volkstag at the session of 28 Nov 1934. The Volkstag acknowledged the resignation and immediately proceeded to the election of a successor.
