  1. There is no authentic record of the election of the Supreme Mexican Government confirming its date, but letters from one of its members, José María Cos, suggest that the "division of powers" took place on 21 Oct 1814. The Government promulgated the Constitutional Decree for the Liberty of Mexican America, historically known as the Constitution of Apatzingán, on 24 Oct 1814.
  2. The Constitution of Apatzingán established four-month rotating presidential terms among the members of the Supreme Government. Liceaga served as President from Oct 1814 to Feb 1815.
  3. Morelos was captured by a detachment of the royalist army on 5 Nov 1815. He remained in captivity and was tried, convicted, and executed on 22 Dec 1815.
  4. Cos was accused of violating the terms of his arrest and was declared an outlaw and an enemy of the republican government by a circular issued by the Supreme Government on 31 Aug 1815 in Uruapan.
  5. Alas was elected a member of the Supreme Government after the capture of Morelos (5 Nov 1815) and before the arrival of the Congress to Tehuacán (16 Nov 1815).
