- Part of the formula (in the name of the King of the Spains Fernando VII): El Sr. D. Fernando Septimo y en su Real nombre la Suprema Junta Nacional Americana instalada para la conservación de sus Derechos Defensa de la Religión Santa é indemnización y libertad de nuestra oprimida Patria. Also in official use: Supremo Congreso Americano Gubernativo, a nombre del Señor D. Fernando VII, etc.; Suprema Junta Gubernativa del Reino Americano.
- The members of the Junta were elected and sworn in at a meeting of insurgent leaders held in Zitácuaro on 19 Aug 1811, and the body was apparently constituted on 21 Aug 1811, the date appearing in its earliest extant documents.
- A decree signed by the two members of the Junta, Berduzco and Liceaga, on 4 Mar 1813, purportedly dismissed Rayón from membership, but he refused to comply, continuing to act alone as Presidente de la Suprema Junta Gubernativa de América, Ministro Universal de la Nación. Rayón was named a member of the Supreme Congress convened in Chilpancingo on 14 Sep 1813, but he hesitated to join until 4 Nov 1813, when he took the oath of office.
- As a result of an internal split with Rayón, the latter ordered the apprehension and imprisonment of Berduzco and Liceaga on 7 Apr 1813. While Berduzco escaped, Liceaga was captured shortly before 18 May 1813 and taken into custody. During his captivity, he met with Rayón (29 Jun 1813), who ordered his release.
- Liceaga joined the Supreme Congress and took the oath of office between 21 Oct 1813 and 6 Nov 1813.
- Morelos was appointed Capitán General as evidenced by the letter notifying him of the appointment (12 Jun 1812) and his acknowledgment (28 Jun 1812). He was subsequently appointed a member of the Junta, apparently on 19 Jul 1812, as inferred from a letter by Rayón. Although the official instrument of appointment did not reach him in time, Morelos replied to Rayón on 3 Sep 1812, stating that he had already begun using the new title.
