[1] | The unification of the city and province of Venice with Sardinia was accomplished on 6 Aug 1848 with the proclamation of the Law of 27 Jul 1848 in Venice, but the formal transfer of authority from the Provisional Government of Venice to the extraordinary commissioners of the King of Sardinia took place 7 Aug 1848. |
[2] | Manin assumed personal dictatorship 11 Aug 1848 but abstained from proclaiming himself dittatore, using Governo Provvisorio di Venezia in legislation. He formally refused to accept the dictatorship when a motion was made at the session of the Assemblea Provinciale 13 Aug 1848 and was elected president of the Provisional Government. |
[3] | Manin was appointed chief of the executive power with the title of the President ("capo del potere esecutivo, con titolo di presidente") on 7 Mar 1849. |
