[1] | Appointed to serve as the President of the Provisional Government and chose Presidente Doge as his formal style; after the protests from officials, he gave up his title of Doge (in a message submitted to the Provisional Government 29 Jun 1797). The Provisional Government resolved on 29 Jun 1797 that the formal style of Brignole in all public acts will be Presidente (del Governo Provvisorio). |
[2] | The Provisional Government was transformed into Potere Esecutivo Provvisorio to serve until the installation of the Direttorio Esecutivo in accordance with Art. 7 and 8 of the Law of 14 Dec 1797 (Registro delle sessioni del governo provvisorio, pp. 323-324). Carbonara who had served as Vice President of the Provisional Government (4 Jan 1798 - 17 Jan 1798) assumed the presidency. |
