[1] Recognized as king by Papal bull 31 May 1303; proclaimed 27 Nov 1308; crowned 15 Jun 1309 and 27 Aug 1310.
[2] Also in Bohemia as King Václav III and Poland as King Wacław III.
[3] Also in Bavaria (Niederbayern) as Duke Otto III.
[4] Designated heiress by her father (I. Zsigmond) and elected queen by the Estates (18 or 19 Dec 1438) along with her husband (I. Albert), she was crowned only as queen consort and never exercised royal authority jointly with I. Albert. After the death of the king, Erzsébet assumed royal authority and continued to exercise her functions as queen regnant until the coronation of her son, V. László.
[5] Elected king by the Estates (29 Jun 1440) in opposition to V. László, in whose minority a faction of his supporters continued to uphold his claim until the end of 1442.
[6] Exercised the royal functions during the absence of king I. Ulászló and in the period when the king was presumed to have survived after the battle in which he was actually killed (10 Nov 1444). Following the confirmation of the death of Ulászló, he continued to exercise the royal functions until the election of V. László.
