  1. Othōn was designated King of Greece in accordance with a treaty concluded by France, United Kingdom, Russia and Bavaria on 25 Apr/7 May 1832 (effective on 18/30 Jun 1832) and recognized by a resolution of the Greek National Assembly (Ethnikē tōn Ellēnōn Syneleusis | Εθνική των Ελλήνων Συνέλευσις) passed at the session held on 27 Jul/8 Aug 1832 in Nafplio. Othōn and the members of the Regency landed in Greece on 25 Jan/6 Feb 1833. During his absence from Athens, a provisional government was constituted on 11/23 Oct 1862 and on the same day issued a proclamation, declaring the abolition of his reign. Othōn departed from Greece on 12/24 Oct 1862. The throne was declared vacant by a resolution of the National Assembly passed on 22 Jan/3 Feb 1863 (retroactively effective since 10/22 Oct 1862).
