El Salvador: Heads of State: 1865-1898In accordance with the provisions of Art. 31 of the Constitution of 1864, Art. 41 of the Constitution of 1871 (changed to Art. 81 after the amendments of 1872, and to Art. 76 after the amendments of 1880), Art. 74 of the Constitution of 1883, and Art. 80 of the Constitution of 1886, the exercise of executive power is vested into a citizen bearing the title Presidente de la República ("El Poder Ejecutivo será ejercido por un ciudadano que recibirá el título de Presidente de la República...").
