- The presidium elected by the National Council at its constituent meeting on 13 Jul 1918 included Kramář as president, Václav Klofáč and Švehla as vice presidents. On the day of the establishment of the Czechoslovak state (28 Oct 1918), when the National Council took over the state authority from the officials of Austria-Hungary, only Švehla was present in Prague. Kramář returmed from Switzerland and attended the meeting of the National Council on 5 Nov 1918.
