- Babić was discharged from the functions of President of the Republic, and his duties were transferred to the President of the Assembly, Mile Paspalj (Миле Паспаљ), during a session of the Assembly held in Glina on 16 Feb 1992, attended solely by the deputies from Krajina. As Babić refused to comply with this decision, another session of the Assembly was held in Knin on 21 Feb 1992, also attended solely by Krajina deputies, which revoked the resolution made in Glina. Both assemblies claimed to have met with a quorum, but they adopted competing resolutions. On 26 Apr 1992, the first Assembly with representatives from 1) Krajina, 2) Slavonia, Baranja, and Western Syrmia, and 3) Western Slavonia met in Borovo Selo and elected Hadžić as the new President of the Republic.
- Martić was declared the winner of the presidential election when the final official results were published by the Republican Electoral Committee on 26 Jan 1994. His inauguration took place at a session of the Assembly in Knin on 12 Feb 1994.
