9 May 1944 the creation of Yugoslavia on the federal principle for the peoples of Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, approved by a resolution of the Anti-Fascist Council for the National Liberation of Yugoslavia on 29/30 Nov 1943, is confirmed by a resolution approved by the State Anti-Fascist Council for the National Liberation of Croatia on 8/9 May 1944 in Topusko (Croatia National Liberation Council Documents, pp. 621-622, 660-665; Croatia Official Gazette, No. 2, 1945) [1]

25 Jul 1990 the name of the state is changed in accordance with an amendment to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Croatia passed at the joint session of three chambers of the National Assembly (Sabor) of the Socialist Republic of Croatia on 25 Jul 1990 and promulgated by a resolution of the National Assembly on 25 Jul 1990 (Croatia Official Gazette, No. 31, 28 Jul 1990)
  1. The resolutions were approved by the State Anti-Fascist Council for the National Liberation at the session held between 21:00 8 May 1944 and 05:00 9 May 1944. The printed version were dated 9 May 1944.
