26 Aug 1939 the banates of Sava and Primorje, the districts of Dubrovnik, Šid, Ilok, Brčko, Gradačac, Derventa, Travnik and Fojnica of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, are merged into a banate under the name of the Banate of Croatia in accordance with a regulation approved by the Regents of Yugoslavia on 26 Aug 1939, effective on publication (Yugoslavia Official Gazette, No. 194-A, 26 Aug 1939, pp. 1197-1199)
