- The royal style and title were changed in accordance with the Constitutional amendments approved by the Grand National Assembly (Veliko narodno sãbranie|Велико народно събрание) on 8/21 Jul 1911 and promulgated by the King on 9/22 Jul 1911, effective upon publication on 11/24 Jul 1911 (Bulgaria Official Gazette, No. 149, 11 Jul 1911, p. 2). Prior to the passing of the amendments, the style had been introduced in official use following the signing (6/19 Apr 1909) and the exchange of ratifications (6/19 May 1909) of the Bulgarian-Ottoman protocol recognizing the independence of Bulgaria (Bulgaria Official Gazette, No. 95, 8 May 1909, p. 21; Bulgaria Official Gazette, No. 13, 19 Jan 1910, pp. 1-5).
