The name of the state was changed in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia which came into operation on the adoption by the Constituent Assembly of Yugoslavia on 31 Jan 1946. The name of the National Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina was changed to the National Assembly of the People's Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with a law passed by the Presidency of the National Assembly on 13 Feb 1946.
