[1] In both cases (1810 and 1812) the Municipal Council (cabildo) of Buenos Aires formally assumed supreme authority in absence of national executive. There was no change in the official style of the body, but "gobernador" (cabildo gobernador) was added in at least one case in 1810.
[2] The successors of Sarratea and Chiclana, Pedro Medrano Cabrera and Manuel Alejandro Obligado Fernández, were elected 6 Oct 1812 and 7 Oct 1812 respectively, but they were prevented from taking oath of office as a result of coup d'état.
[3] Pending the election of a full member of the Government (23 Mar 1812 - 5 Apr 1812), then pending the swearing-in of Pueyrredón (5 Apr 1812 - 22 May 1812); acting for the absent Sarratea (22 May 1812 - 23 Sep 1812); pending the election and swearing-in of a new member (23 Sep 1812 - 8 Oct 1812).
[4] Elected 5 Apr 1812; sworn in 22 May 1812.
[5] José Miguel Díaz Vélez y Aráoz was elected a substitute to serve for the absent Pueyrredón (5 Apr 1812), but his election was voided 6 Apr 1812.
[6] Pending the swearing-in of Nicolás Rodríguez de la Peña Funes which took place 5 Nov 1812.
[7] Standing Orders of the Supremo Poder Ejecutivo adopted by the Asamblea General 27 Feb 1813 prescribed monthly rotation of the presidency in order of seniority.
