[2] Elected King of Norway 17 May 1814 by the Constituent Assembly (Riksforsamlingen); accepted the election and took oath of office on 19 May 1814.
[3] Signed a declaration of abdication 10 Oct 1814 at Ladegaardsøen and left the national territory shortly afterwards. The declaration was submitted to the Storting 11 Oct 1814. This body abstained from voting on the acceptance of abdication, issuing an address acknowledging the abdication "on behalf of the nation" (signed by the members of the Storting 4 Nov 1814).
[4] Carsten Tank Anker was appointed a member of the Council of State, but never took office being on a diplomatic mission abroad.
